firstly I'd like to thank the Argentinian football team for winning the World Cup I believe that was their way of reminding me to get this video made so since they went
the effort let's check out the stadiums of the Argentine Primera Division estadio Diego Armando Maradona just like in Napoli the club is named their Stadium after the man that is by far the greatest ever player this one has had that name for nearly 20 years however basically ever since the stadium was rebuilt in the early 2000s the stands here are
very Steep and I'm a big fan of that and as you'll see throughout the video that is a common trait amongst Argentine stadiums estadio Julio Humberto grandona it's a pretty basic Stadium each stand has a lot of bare concrete on show what I can appreciate is that despite clearly not
being amongst the wealthiest clubs they've made the best with what they have by adding some artwork here and there we're certainly livens the place up once again that's a common trait amongst Argentine stadiums what is that a bridge a study or Monumental Jose Fierro is a hundred years old this year Well actually last year as of a few days ago it obviously looked nothing like this back when it opened in fact even since the late 2000s it has changed I've added a few thousand seats and I'm guessing that
was in this section which does make the main stand look a little odd clearly that wasn't part of the original design it works I suppose also interesting how the main stand changes gradients like one of those Fairground slides Kim Buenos Aires we have a study of florencio Sola which is a fairly interesting Stadium for starters the double-tiered main stand actually has a proper brick facade with some nice hits of green interior is kind of distinctive as well particularly the unconventional Corner Terraces connecting the main
stem with the rest of the stadium I wonder why they chose not to match up the newer main stem with the rest of the Stadium's bright green color scheme estadio claudiog cheeky Tapia is the smallest stadium in the lake by a long way it's the only one with a capacity of under 10 000 and it doesn't even have half of that so yeah it doesn't have much going for it but
it is right next to a train station so at least it's very easy to get to this stadium that doesn't have much going for it and if you do take the car you don't even have to get out seemingly estadio Julio Cesar Viagra it seems as though they were trying to appease the sky Gods with this Stadium not only is the exterior painted sky blue but so is every seat in the house wait the sky Gods that's
that's just regular God isn't it anyway like several stadiums in the league there have been plans made to redevelop it which have not yet materialized for now it's still a decent venue I suppose the study of Alberto Armando or La bombanera as is more commonly known it's perhaps the most famous stadium in the country and for good reason not
only is it home to one of the continent's biggest clubs but the design is very distinctive a stable shaped triple tiered stand surrounds three sides of the field and on the other a vertical stand consisting of press boxes and luxury suites it's a very imposing structure all around once more they have been planning for quite some time to redevelop it but planning is the easy part building the hard part especially during a
financial crisis this is the newest venue in the league having opened just last year I mean two years ago considering it has the Spanish word for Unique in its name it true fittingly has a very distinctive design both the exterior and the multi-colored interior it's a bit perplexing that they've chosen a circular seating Bowl which leaves a large gap
between the stands in the field along the sidelines perhaps they are allowing for a potential surge in the popularity of cricket in Argentina no okay other than that it has the most video board square meter Ridge in the league I believe they also still play at estadio Alfredo torreira which might seem puzzling but I suppose it's just to remind them of what they have at their new stadium and make sure they appreciate it but this one's not too bad at all I'm liking the black and white stripes the zigzag
exterior and the big Club Crest up there it mightn't be as good as their new home but it's certainly more homely estadio Brigadier General estanisla Lopez this extraordinary venue gets the nickname of the elephant's graveyard due to the fact that it's been the site of many great upsets especially back in the day although that could just be a cover story for an elephant Massacre that was swept under the rug we will never know for sure the seating layout here has a bit of everything going on it's terracing there's multi-
tiered premium seating there's like a weird half a dozen row section of seats with The Concourse in between it's and the main seating Bowl but it all comes together perfectly though estadio Norberto Tito tomagello it is a humble Stadium but it too has a variety of different stands some are standard one is the skeletal metal variety that you can see through and then there's this steep Terrace stand that basically just looks like a wall I assume there's some kind of seat belt or velcro arrangement to hold Spectators in place a few years back one of the stands actually broke during a match always wear your
seat belts estadio Jorge Luis hiski swiping one of the oldest stadiums in the country the oldest in the league it's looking like one of the newest that's due to some major redevelopments that wrapped up a few years ago really it is a completely new stadium that just sits on the site of the old one again we see that same style of stand that we saw at Labon Monera it seems to be most common in South America I really like it I think it just gives the stadium an interesting look and feel right next door we have a stadio Juan camelos area which is known as Al Bosque or
the forest and you can probably tell why it's surrounded by a bit of albusk that's not the only interesting aspect here this little Mainstay has one of the few architecturally impressive facades we've seen so far albeit a little worse for wear it has after all been here since the 30s most of the stadium is simple terracing but they have added some vibrant blue seats over here estadio Feliciano gambate the main stand at this ground was actually demolished just this year uh last year it will be replaced by a modern stand with better facilities and I believe they
have considered redeveloping other parts of the stadium but for now it remains simple concrete terracing however they have at least done a good job at painting them uh Sky Gods uh Godoy Crews also play out custodial malvinus Argentinos yes the stadium is named after those islands off the east coast of Argentina oh now is probably a good time to point out any argentinians watching that I'm not British and as long as you leave Australia's herd and McDonald Islands alone are all good it's just a big icy volcano
anyway uh this asymmetrical Bowl Stadium built for the 78 World Cup is unique in this league both star stadiums don't seem to be very common in Argentina but I quite like them this is a particularly sunken Bowl as you can see which not only costs the cost of construction but allows for a bit of a Scenic backdrop to be seen estadio Thomas Adolfo Duco plenty of the stadiums in this league are over 70 years old but the interesting thing about this place is
that after a complete rebuild in the late 1940s it basically hasn't changed apart from a few aesthetic details I can see why they haven't wanted to touch it for one the capacity is more than adequate but also the exterior is made up of an ornate facade all around believe it has Heritage status wait what the that guy's wearing an Australian rugby top oh and of course it has its own attached Tower because why not estadio libertados
the America was built in the 1920s on the side of a lagoon that had been drained obviously it was a time when most stands were constructed from Timber but this was built from concrete from the start making it well ahead of its time it's come a long way since then it's now not only better but significantly redder I particularly like these multi-tiered Corner sections they were added during a rebuild over 10 years ago beautiful Stadium a study of Presidente Perron interestingly this
is named after a former president of Argentina who was an avid supporter of racing Club who are based in another city but he learned this club some money to build this Stadium good to see it wasn't governing based purely on his football Allegiance although Racing Club with no Mercedes mushroom as well for the same reason anyway there doesn't appear to be any actual seats in the House other than those in the sky boxes it's just pure concrete pretty good looking concrete estadio ciarda delanis this place gets the nickname of La
Fortaleza The Fortress and it is especially fitting here because there is actually a merge filled with water along the sidelines to keep Spectators off the field akin to the moats around a fortress that help keep the missiles out yeah not so useful nowadays other than that this is one of the few older stadiums in the league that has an extensive roof which not only shelters Spectators from the rain but enhances their vocals such an intimidating
atmosphere a study of Marcelo bielsa this remarkable venue situated in a leafy Park is home to a club called news old boys which is a very English sounding name well it was an Englishman named Isaac Newell who got some old boys also known as men and started up the club many of the clubs in the country were actually founded by the British anyway due to these unique upper decks on two sides of the ground this place is looking quite spectacular the studio see that Vicente Lopez interestingly this Stadium backs onto a road that forms the boundary of the Buenos Aires province oh wait I started that sentence off with the word interestingly didn't I sorry the stadium is looking a little bit disheveled but they are planning on completely renovating it and although it's a long way from
completion they have done some work as you can see new seats they look nice actually we have already had an estadio Presidente Perron so let's go with this nickname El cilindro I don't really sprechens to Spanish but I can make the assumption that the solyndro is in reference to the Stadium's rounded shape despite that the stands have been brought quite close to the field over the years which is of course a good thing this is yet another stadium with its very own attached Tower I suppose it was all the rage back in the late 40s early 50s what wasn't popular back then was the wraparound roof but this one was
added in the 90s estadio monumental firstly I like the fact that the club is called River Place and their stadium is right by the river wow that's a wide river that that that's the ocean yep okay since these aerial shots were taken the stadium has actually been slightly revamped and the track was removed so now this is basically like the last one minus the roof well not quite but they are similar one thing that sets it apart other than the color scheme is this one of the larger video boards in the country it is after all the largest stadium in the country a stadium of monumental proportions estadio Gigante de oroyito okay okay now
I'm fairly sure I can confidently say that this is next to a river not only due to the fact that it is definitely a river but aurorito actually means little stream and Gigante means Giant and a river really is just a giant stream at the end of the day that is the piranha River in casual wandering much like La bombinero they've adopted a vibrant blue and yellow color scheme these guys have even gone to the actual length of painting the floodlight Towers blue I really like this Stadium estadio Pedro bit again somewhat surprisingly this is the only stadium in the league that opened in the 90s most of the settings were built in Argentina's more.
prosperous years I suppose seems quite odd how they just left this large gap between the seating however the reason for that is that the stadium has had small sections of setting added bit by bit over the years So eventually it might become a complete Bowl I think these would have to be the largest single-tiered stance in the league very imposing estadio ever Peron oh a Stadium named after a woman that doesn't happen all that often it was not a footballer but as you may have picked up from the name she was the first lady of Argentina and now there are literally millions of them anyway the stadium is small but it does seem well put together well-rounded all the stairs come together nicely to
form a decent stadium is what I'm trying to say a study of Mario Alberto campus this is yet another one built for the 78 World Cup despite that fact it's not a pure football stadium not by a long way I mean the distance between all the stairs in the field is far from ideal look there's the track and then there's like another 20 meters or so of grass what it does have going for it is the capacity it's quite large and most of those seats are undercover so it does come home strong in the end right in the far Northern reaches of Buenos Aires we have estadio Jose De adivana these older stadiums That Grew From very humble beginnings have to make the best of the land that they have.
available to them and as you can see this place doesn't have much land available to it which leaves the stadium with some odd proportions the standard the Western end of the ground where there was more room to build dwarfs the rest of the stands estadio 15 de Abul can you guess when this Stadium opens yes it was the 28th of April it was in fact the club that was formed on 15th April hence the name the stadium is currently undergoing a multi-phase Redevelopment the main sound has recently gained an upper deck as you can see it does look slightly newer than the rest of the stadium once Redevelopment is complete the capacity will be increased significantly estadio Jose amalfitani to end with we have a stadium located in uh Buenos Aires I think it is Buenos Aires has that come up yet it rings the bell this place is also the home of Argentina's rugby team but the Argentine national football team doesn't mind playing here either they've gone undefeated at this stadium in their does not show
games here those giant Coke bottles up there on the light towers are kind of interesting I guess although the drink just hasn't been the same since they got rid of the cocaine so there you have it I'll be covering some more South American Leagues in the future so if you're interested
